Supremacy 2019

Mitchell van Eenige - 2 October 2019
Driven by dedication! Supremacy 2019 was sold-out and the run on tickets was big. Every raw hardstyle fan wanted to be here. No wonder; it's one of the most important indoor raw hardstyle events of the year. Holograms above the DJ-booth, flames, lasers, and visuals, everything was up and running again this edition. But what was the atmosphere like? And did this edition make it happen again? This is Supremacy 2019.

The Brabanthallen fills up early on. Chain Reaction warms up the hall with a classic set and the audience is looking forward to it. After the sunny festival season, it's time to go back inside and dance the night away. And this is definitely a good entry!

In no time Rejecta has made herself indispensable in the scene and has given him the task of following up on Chain Reaction. Tracks like 'Kicked Out' and 'Realness', the collab with Rebelion, are a nice buzz in the audience. The sets on Supremacy are short, but this makes the night very diverse. After 45 minutes it's time for the next one: Phuture Noize. By the way, a remarkable name on the line-up of Supremacy. Of course, we know him from his almost glittering, unique sound, but Phuture Noize can do a lot more than that and let the audience hear it. Some new album tracks of Apexx will pass by and also 'Collateral Damage' of Requiem. A nice surprise!

Digital Punk then plays a thirty-minute live set. At high speed, he alternates tracks like 'Colla Domina' and 'Kick on your mouth'. He has a lot of momentum and so he prepares us for what is to come: the set of anthem maker Crypsis! It gets dark and quiet, and it stays that way for a while. The tension rises and the audience even gets a bit restless until the famous Art of Dance voice announces the anthem maker of 2019. "He is the founder of our religion. Bow down for the infamous Crypsis Live!" Fireworks go off, lasers flying through the hall and everyone sings along. Not much later, the DJ booth is released from the stage and floats through the auditorium. It's the famous Supremacy gimmick you're waiting for as a visitor, but even edition after edition, it's still nice to see.

Another characteristic detail of Supremacy are the many live-acts. Gunz for Hire will be on stage tonight with their Blood Brothers live act. Not necessarily an act we expected on Supremacy, but the diversity of the evening is a very pleasant development. With tracks like 'Kings of Mayhem', the throttle goes up.

D-Sturb succeeds Gunz for Hire and his 'Marked for Death' live-edit is doing very well. He plays many different edits and also his part in the Live for This anthem that he made in collaboration with Warface. Sounds great! D-Sturb then concludes with an edit of 'Nothing Like The Oldschool' and gets the whole Brabanthallen flat. What a talent it is! Warface is also present tonight and plays a Heavy Artillery set. He will play his part of the Live For This anthem, called 'Synchronized'. We are very curious about how this sounds together, but the idea is cool!

Rooler will treat the audience to new album material tonight. It sounds a bit clumsy here and there, but it is nice and loud and raw. Maybe we have to get used to it, but at least the new tracks are very popular. After this, we're really ready to go to the top of our game. It's time for Rebelion presents Overdose. And wow, what a crazy set this is. Overdose stands for the harder Rebelion sound: hard tracks and exhausting live-edits. The Overdose edit of 'Bring It On' and a new track that is probably called 'Bassline Junkie', makes the whole audience scream with enthusiasm. Overdose doesn't leave anything intact.

The last one and a half-hour of Supremacy has come. Delete VIP breaks off the tent with his newest VIP-edit of 'Genocide' and Killshot makes his debut with his new live-act 'Beast Mode'. We close the night with Deadly Guns live. During the last half-hour of hardcore, the bpm rises again towards the 200 and we're still going above that with the last tracks. A hard way to close Supremacy 2019.

The concept of Supremacy remains very strong. This sold-out edition proved it again. Art of Dance has announced that all (live) sets have been recorded and that they will be published soon, so you can relive this edition.
