A love letter to... MC Livid

Dear Ramon, You are my favourite MC. You are infinitely enthusiastic, energetic and positive. I sometimes wonder what your secret is. But more important is what you do with it. With your solid voice and joyful kick rolls you know how to convey the real hardstyle feeling. And I love it! You modestly started your career in 2011 at smaller raw hardstyle events such as parties at the Kdanz in your hometown Schagen. The organisation Lose Your Mind saw a real talent in you and you soon became their resident MC at events like Reckless and Total Mash Up.

My first party with you was in 2013: Penoze at the NDSM-werf. Although I have to admit that I was overwhelmed by all the impressions around me. This was my very first indoor hardstyle party. As a little girl hidden behind the backs of hundreds of hardstyle veterans and impressed by the violence that blew through the speakers, the stage was pretty far away. But what I remember from that evening is that the audience went totally wild. And with the knowledge of today I can say that you have had a large share in that. I saw you appear on the line-ups of big events more and more and you surprised us with fantastic collaborations on records such as ‘Fight Your Fears’ with Degos & Re-done and Prefix & Density and ‘Armaggedon’ with Rebelion. The scene noticed what you can do with the audience and also sees that the party really kicks off when you are there.

Being a good MC is all about timing and finding the perfect balance. You know exactly how to.

My favourite moment was during the set of Delete at Loudness last November. I finally stood right in front of the stage for once and could see Delete and you properly. I was enjoying how you were energetically drumming to the kicks of Delete, ríght on the beat. Your enthusiasm is so contagious, that big smile wasn’t going to go off my face! Fortunately, many more parties followed where we could enjoy you rocking the stage. On QAPITAL and Supersized Kingsday, to name a few, you once again excelled in what you do and on Defqon.1 2019 you even hosted my two favourite stages: the BLUE and INDIGO. We definitely broke the house down! Finding the perfect moments, interact with the audience. Being a good MC is all about timing and finding the perfect balance. You know exactly how to. Apart from the fact that you seem to know all records by heart, you provide a dose of humour on stage which cheers everyone up. I see your love for raw hardstyle reflected in everything and because of you I started to appreciate raw even more. Ramon, it’s hard to imagine the raw hardstyle scene without you and I hope you stay on that stage for a long time.
