Robin Kesting is a 20 year old DJ and producer, better known as: Aversion. But Robin does more than making music. He also works in sales and delivers sushi. Still, hardstyle is his greatest passion. With his energetic stage presence, quality releases and a lot of power he is slowly conquering the hardstyle scene. This Future Legend goes a long way: Aversion is one to watch!

His brother Danny got him in touch with hardstyle. “I remember well when he played 'Scrap Attack' by Headhunterz on holiday. The track was just released as the Defqon.1 anthem of 2009 and I was sold right away! I completely immersed myself in the music and the hardstyle obsession began.” As a big fan of parties like Defqon.1 and Qlimax, he knew his passion for hardstyle went beyond ‘just partying’. “I wanted nothing more than making hardstyle myself. I love the whole idea of the studio, making music and then being able to play it at a party.” “Hardstyle is so powerful. That definitely made me skip the spark. I want to give that power and energy back to the listeners of my music.” Emotions, strength and drive are for him the most important principles in his music. He describes his sound as pure untamed hardstyle with some experimental excursions here and there. “Energetic melodies and power, that’s what Aversion is about.” “HARDSTYLE IS SO POWERFUL. THAT DEFINITELY MADE ME SKIP THE SPARK.”

 

Diversity and quality is also really important for him. “It's incredibly motivating to get so much positivity around my productions and sets. That's why I'm constantly trying to get the best out of myself. I want to keep improving myself.” A great source of inspiration is Atmozfears. “He produces at the highest level. His productions are so diverse and creative, without losing their core. His passion for hardstyle is reflected in every set or production and that's something I find very important myself.” But Robin has already set himself several milestones. In 2018 he was at Loudness for the first time. “This was the very first 'big' party where I played. I was the second artist in the third area and it was even full of dancing people in the corridors. It was such an indescribable feeling!” Next week will even be bigger: he will make his debut on Defqon.1 Weekend Festival. “That's a dream coming true. I can't believe it's getting so close now!”

“I MADE THIS RECORD AFTER A LONG PRODUCER'S DIP AND THIS WAS REALLY A TURNPOINT IN MY CAREER!” Tomorrow he releases his first track on the Theracords main label. “The track is called 'Beyond Reality' and I'm really proud of it. I made this record after a long producer's dip and this was really a turnpoint in my career!” Behind the scenes he is working on something special for this track. “I can't tell you yet, but I'll let you know as soon as possible!” A lot to look forward to. But Robin also likes to look ahead. In the coming years he wants to focus on producing and getting better at it. “Making music is the most important thing for me now. I have the feeling that there is a lot of potential there.” But also an Aversion Live set is on his bucket list. “On one day, I hope to be an established name that can compete with the other legends. But all in good time, I'm not in a hurry.”
