The Lion King and the harder styles: a good match?

The world is under the spell of the remake of perhaps the most popular Disney movie ever: The Lion King. The film is now shining in the cinemas and a brand new Beyoncé track from the new film has just been released. Nothing for you? Also in our scene, The Lion King keeps the emotions going.

It seems like yesterday that the GelreDome illuminated orange, during the set of Tweekacore on Qlimax 2019. “Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba. Sithi uhm ingonyama.” Wait, is this ‘Circle of Life’ of the Lion King? The Da Tweekaz remake of this Disney classic has been released today, entirely according to the Disney hype. You can listen to it via Spotify and you can download it here for free.

But the men of Da Tweekaz and Tweekacore are not the only ones who are inspired by the music of The Lion King. Especially the piece from the scene in which Mufasa's mind appears in the clouds, (Hans Zimmer - This Land) is very popular. These hardstyle, hardcore, and frenchcore artists went to work with it!

Dark Pact - The Truth

This hardstyle track dates from 2017, just before The Lion King hype. Although it never really went away. The melody is still recognizable, but in combination with a dark vocal and hard kicks, the track suddenly gets a whole different vibe. Great!

Broken Minds - The Lion King

You've got this beautiful Hans Zimmer melody. Throw in a good lion's roar and a good hardcore beat and you'll get an awesome record that'll give you goose bumps, Broken Minds must have thought. And they're right!

Crypton - Like That

A classical melody matched with frenchcore: is there a better combination than that? In 2018 Crypton released this great track. The Lion King melody matches Crypton's fast kicks perfectly!

Dr. Peacock - Lionz | Q-BASE 2016 OST

If you say a beautiful Hans Zimmer melody and frenchcore, you say Dr. Peacock. For the BKJN OST of Q-BASE 2016, he made this great track with the melody of 'This Land'. Dr. Peacock lets even the toughest frenchcore fans shed a tear over the death of Mufasa.
